Basic Wilderness First Aid: Key skills to master for survival:

CPR: Perform chest compressions (2 inches deep, 100-120/min) and rescue breaths if needed. If alone, do CPR for 2 minutes before calling for help.
Bleeding Control: Apply direct pressure to stop bleeding. Use a tourniquet for severe bleeding if necessary. Elevate the limb if possible.
Fractures and Sprains: Immobilize fractures with a splint. Use R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) for sprains.
Heat & Cold Injuries:
Heat Exhaustion: Cool down, hydrate, and rest.
Heat Stroke: Cool the person quickly and seek medical help.
Hypothermia: Warm the person slowly, avoid direct heat.
Frostbite: Warm gently, protect from further exposure.
Allergic Reactions: Use an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen) for severe reactions and seek help.
Snake Bites & Animal Attacks: Keep calm, immobilize the affected area, and get medical help.
Shock: Elevate legs, keep warm, and calm the person.
Insect Bites: Remove stingers, clean the area, and apply cold compress. Watch for allergic reactions.
Basic Kit: Include bandages, antiseptic, gauze, tweezers, and a CPR mask.
